We are, all of us
Just on a visit to Planet Earth.
For some of us it will be a short stay.
Some will try to prolong their visit.
Some will outstay their welcome.
Others may have their visits curtailed
By accident.
And may have to say their farewells
On the road or in the air.
Some visits will be horribly terminated
By shooting, hanging or electrocution.
The visitors I feel really sorry for
Are the little ones who are refused admission
At the door.
For life is a great show
And not one to be missed.
