The Cosmic Story

The bible is a cosmic story about death and rebirth.

From the very first words out of chaos and darkness, life and light were created.

It is a thread of crimson that is woven into the heart of creation.

From Noah reborn from the deluge, Abraham reborn into the promise, Isaac born from barreness.

Israel reborn from Egypt, Esther reborn from captivity, Nineveh reborn through repentance and Jesus born from the light.

God is all about creating life from the grip of death.

It is in times of this grip of darkness that God shines light into the confusion we make of this life
It was the prophet Jonah rescued in the belly of a great fish that revealed the dilemma of mankind. “Those who regard and follow worthless idols. Turn away from their [living source of] mercy and lovingkindness.” – Jonah 2:8.

Jesus said the same thing, “Lose your life and you will find it.”

Paul said, “ I am crucified with Christ : nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” – Galatians 2:20

And that is how creation works, the old dies and the new brings forth new life.

Life comes through death.

Life out of chaos

Light out of darkness

Completeness out of emptiness

God reaching out in his unconditional love and embracing us in our darkness.

And this embracing of us is passionate. It was a burning fire of desire for intimacy with the delight of His heart.

It is Gods consuming glory and infinite love that ignited the cosmos from chaos into glorious life.

The Lord's Perfect Creation by Gregory Hahn

You inspire my spirit,
you soften my soul,
When my hearts feeling empty,
you fill me up whole,

You say to lean on you,
and that you'll help me through,
any situation.

You provided the answers,
to my questions of pain,
and healed all my ailments,
removed every stain,

The light in your eyes,
how they outshine the skies,
such a beautiful sensation.

I cherish your laughter,
I learn from your love,
your friendship is priceless,
and as pure as a dove,

You're the angel I need.
one I'll never mislead,
the Lord's Perfect Creation.

Creation speaks without a word by Allen Steble

In the soft blowing of the afternoon wind
a quiet sound is heard in the breeze
On the top of a tree reaching the clouds
A lonely leaf moves with the wind's soft touch
creation speaks without a sound heard

In the bright light of a summer moon
streams of colour cover a pool of pitch dark
A blue bolt of lightning from a dark ocean above
quakes the silent earth below with a lions roar
creation sings without a melody heard

The sun rises waking the sleeping land
power spoken in the breadth of surrounding light
a thousand stars light up night, just one in day
One quiet voice speaks with a tongue of truth
Creation speaks without a word
to tell us about its grand maker

Breath of Creation by David Whalen

Today, I breathed into the air,
two cups of moisture… as I do everyday
which was absorbed by the atmosphere
in some arcane, yet everyday way

To couple with clouds…the cold…
and a mote of dust…to take
The wondrous form of…
A crystalline snowflake

What in my most delirious dreams
Tis a heartwarming thought
To be a bit of the creation, of Nature’s schemes
My essence, and breath have wrought.

no one gives thought Of simple inhalations,
Of everyday breaths… ordinary inspirations
Yet in every exhalation… everyone takes
A part in the creation…of snowflakes

Creation by Ella Wheeler Wilcox

The impulse of all love is to create.
God was so full of love, in his embrace
He clasped the empty nothingness of space,
And low! the solar system! High in state
The mighty sun sat, so supreme and great
With this same essence, one smile of its face
Brought myriad forms of life forth; race on race,

From insects up to men.
Through love, not hate,
All that is grand in nature or in art
Sprang into being. He who would build sublime
And lasting works, to stand the test of time,
Must inspiration draw from his full heart.
And he who loveth widely, well, and much,
The secret holds of the true master touch.

Praise for Creation and Providence by Isaac Watts

I sing the mighty power of God,
that made the mountains rise,
That spread the flowing seas abroad,
and built the lofty skies.
I sing the wisdom that ordained
the sun to rule the day;
The moon shines full at God's command,
and all the stars obey.

I sing the goodness of the Lord,
who filled the earth with food,
Who formed the creatures through the Word,
and then pronounced them good.
Lord, how Thy wonders are displayed,
wherever I turn my eye,
If I survey the ground I tread,
or gaze upon the sky.

There's not a plant or flower below,
but makes Thy glories known,
And clouds arise, and tempests blow,
by order from Thy throne;
While all that borrows life from Thee
is ever in Thy care;
And everywhere that we can be,
Thou, God art present there.

The world's most beautiful creation by Karl Jones

I’d give anything to see the sun set on the horizon,
I’d do anything to gaze at a full moon in the night sky
Even a rainbow would make me smile,
And I’d love to swim in crystal clear waters
Of an untouched sea
Sometimes I’ll see a shooting star,
And try to gaze from afar,
All the diamonds in the night sky
The mist on the mountains is breathtaking,
As is walking in rainforest
To see cascading waterfalls I’d do anything for,
As to stand on the highest peak in the world,
And look at the sights below
I’d love to soar on wings above the clouds,
Across the bluest skies
I’d do anything to see
All the beautiful things in the world,
Like a red rose blooming in the Sahara,
Like a river twisting through a dusty land,
All the beautiful things in the world
But I also know I am looking at
The world’s most beautiful creation....YOU!

ConneXions - In The Beginning God

In the beginning God

Lord, through all the generations you have been our home! Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world, from beginning to end, you are God. – Psalm 90:1-2

For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. – Romans 1:20

The high and lofty one who lives in eternity, I  the Holy One, says this: I live in the high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts.  - Isaiah 57:15

Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. – Isaiah 40:28

The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you. – Deuteronomy 33:27

All honor and glory to God forever and ever! He is the eternal King, the unseen one who never dies; he alone is God. – 1 Timothy 1:17

I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,”says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.” – Revelation 1:8

Silence

Chaos
Vacant space
Echoes split endless void
Worlds untouched by light
Golden fire consumes aching shadows
Whispered words divides crystal oceans
Mountains exalted among chariots of praise
Banks of flowers kissed by heavens dew
Morning blossoms herald a glorious day
Stillness in the air
It is finished
Silence
