Tuesday's Track - I Am Yours by Darlene Zschech

This is an amazing, grace filled, Christ centered song, from the brilliant album Revealing Jesus by Darlene Zschech.

The overflowing grace of God is revealed in our lives through our interwoven spirit in Christ.

God is a God of grace, love, mercy, hope, peace, strength, wonders, hope and life.

All these attributes are inside us, united with our spirit, revealed in our lives through Jesus Christ in all his fullness.

We are never, ever alone Christ is united with us every second we live.

God of grace
God of love
God of mercy
All glorious
In Your presence I remain
Your love filling me again
I am Yours
I am Yours

God of peace
God of strength
God of wonders
My defense
I will worship at Your throne
Your sacrifice has made me whole
I am Yours
I am Yours

Behold the Lamb of God
Who takes away my sin
Lord Jesus crucified for me
This love that knows no end
Your love has set me free
To You I give my all
I am Yours

God of hope
God of life
God forever be lifted high
Jesus Christ revealed in me
My whole life an offering
I am Yours
I am Yours

Behold the Lamb of God
Who takes away my sin
Lord Jesus crucified for me
This love that knows no end
Your love has set me free
To You I give my all
I am Yours

Blessing and honor
Glory and power
Be unto Him
Be unto Him

Behold the Lamb of God
Who takes away my sin
Lord Jesus crucified for me
This love that knows no end
Your love has set me free
To You I give my all
I am Yours

Tuesday's Track - At The Cross by Hillsong

Let the cross be the only thing that mesmerizes you. – John Crowder.

We need nothing more than the Cross, Christ’s sacrifice was good enough.

My works, effort are nothing, I cannot repay God, my heart is an overflowing fountain of his grace, freely given.

Through the Cross I am reconciled to God and his glory has now come and dwells inside me.

It is all by and though his grace, given in abundance at the Cross.

Oh Lord You've searched me
You know my way
Even when I fail You
I know You love me

Your holy presence
Surrounding me
In every season
I know You love me
I know You love me

At the cross I bow my knee
Where Your blood was she'd for me
There's no greater love than this
You have overcome the grave
Your glory fills the highest place
What can separate me now

You go before me
You shield my way
Your hand upholds me
I know You love me

You tore the veil
You made a way
When You said that it is done

And when the earth fades
Falls from my eyes
And You stand before me
I know You love me
I know You love me

Tuesday's Track - God is Able by Hillsong

I love this song, full of truth, hope and grace

The amazing revelation that the God who will never fail me, the almighty God, who has done great things, lives and works inside me.

He defeated the grave, so I could be raised into new life.
He was raised into new life, so I could rule and reign with him, everyday.
He overcame, so I could live in victory
He is able so I can expect him to do exceedingly beyond all I could ask or think
He will never fail so I have the eternal power of God flowing through me
He will never leave me so I am eternally secure

He is just magnificent and overflowing in grace and love towards me.

God is able
He will never fail
He is almighty God
Greater than all we seek
Greater than all we ask
He has done great things

Lifted up
He defeated the grave
Raised to life
Our God is able
In His name
We overcome
For the Lord
Our God is able

God is with us
God is on our side
He will make a way
Far above all we know
Far above all we hope
He has done great things

Lifted up
He defeated the grave
Raised to life
Our God is able
In His name
We overcome
For the Lord
Our God is able

God is with us
He will go before
He will never leave us
He will never leave us
God is for us
He has open arms
He will never fail us
He will never fail us

Lifted up
He defeated the grave
Raised to life
Our God is able
In His name
We overcome
For the Lord
Our God is able

For the Lord
Our God is able
For the Lord
Our God is able

Tuesday’s Track -Amazing Love by Rachel Robinson.

Tuesday’s track is Amazing Love sung by Rachel Robinson.

I have heard this song on UCB over the last month.

The words are just brilliant and really speak of all that Christ won for us at the cross.

It is so good sometimes to let a melody float in your head and when the words are full of truth they speak faith into our hearts.

We are forgiven, eternally.
We are accepted, eternally
We are alive, forever
God’s spirit lives inside us
All by grace
The Amazing love of God
That Christ died as me.

I'm forgiven because you were forsaken
I'm accepted you were condemned
I'm alive and well your spirit is within me
Because you died and rose again

I'm forgiven because you were forsaken
I'm accepted you were condemned
And I'm alive and well your spirit is within me
Because you died and rose again

Amazing love how can it be
That you my king would die for me
Amazing love I know it's true
It's my joy to honor you
In all I do I honor you

I'm forgiven because you were forsaken (yes)
I'm accepted Lord you were condemned
Now I'm alive and well your spirit is within me
Because you died and rose again

OHH amazing love how can it be
That you my king would die for me (yeah)
Amazing love I know it's true
It's my joy to honor you
In all I do I honor you
Oh God I honor you

You are my king
Jesus you are my king
You are my king
Jesus you are my king

Amazing Love how can it be
That you my king would die for me
Amazing love I know it's true
It's my joy to honor you

Amazing Love how can it be
That you my king would die for me
Amazing love I know it's true
It's my joy to honor you
In all I do I honor you
In all I do I honor you

I'm forgiven because you were forsaken

Tuesday's Track - With Everything by Hillsong

Tuesdays track this week is “With Everything” by Hillsong

I love this song, it starts of with the great declaration – Glorious in all of your ways, your majesty, the wonder of your grace, in the light of your name.

Grace and Christ are the same, grace is Christ and Christ is grace. If you want to know the substance of grace, look and study the love and compassion of Jesus. In Christ, there was no condemnation for the sinner, healing for those that were sick, forgiveness to those that were lost, acceptance to those that were alienated, hope to those who were in despair, wisdom for those that were wanting direction and life to those in need of resurrection.

Let the words and melody flood over you and be immersed in the grace of God through Christ.

Open our hearts,
To see the things
That make Your heart cry,
To be the church
The You would desire.
Light to be seen.

Break down our pride,
And all the walls
We've built up inside,
Our earthly crowns
And all our desires,
We lay at Your feet.

So let hope rise,
And darkness tremble
In Your holy light,
And every eye will see
Jesus, our God,
Great and mighty to be praised.

God of all days,
Glorious in all of Your ways.
Your majesty, the wonder and grace,
In the light of Your name.

With everything,
With everything,
We will shout for your glory.

With everything,
With everything,
We will shout forth your praise.

Our hearts will cry
Be glorified,
Be lifted high,
Above all names.
For You our King,
With everything,
We will shout forth your praise.

Woah...

Tuesday's Track - Amazing Love by Hillsongs

Therefore there is No condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus – Romans 1 v 8

The cross is the defining moment of history. In an act of amazing love, God the creator of the universe became the curse of sin and died in my place.

Every sin I ever committed was placed upon Christ and before I was born my sin was forgiven.

He took the condemnation I deserved and in a beautiful exchange I received all the honor and riches of God that He deserved. I exchanged a sinful and rebellious life for a new life where I am a Son of God and received righteousness and holiness.

I am righteous and holy by His death.

Amazing, incredible and overwhelming the wonder and majesty of His grace.

Amazing Love

I'm forgiven, because you were forsaken
I'm accepted, you were condemned
I'm alive and well, you're spirit is within me
Because you died and rose again

I'm forgiven, because you were forsaken
I'm accepted, you were condemned
I'm alive and well, you're spirit is within me
Because you died and rose again

Amazing love, how can it be
That you my king would die for me
Amazing love, I know it's true
It's my joy to honor you
Amazing love, how can it be
That you My king would die for me
Amazing love, I know it's true
It's my joy to honor you
In all I do I honor you

I'm forgiven, because you were forsaken
I'm accepted, you were condemned
I'm alive and well, you're spirit is within me
Because you died and rose again

Tuesday's Track - Redeemed by Big Daddy Weave

This is an amazing song

I have heard it numerous times on UCB radio.

Full of truth and fantastic reality. It took me years to finally realize that all of heavens riches had been poured into me though Christ and everything that was my old man, my old life was crucified with Christ and was dead and buried.

Condemnation and guilt have no effect on someone that is dead.

I have been raised to new life In Christ.

Every day now I live in the freedom and liberty that is my glorious satisfaction that Christ is the interwoven joy in union with me

Redeemed

Seems like all I could see was the struggle
Haunted by ghosts that lived in my past
Bound up in shackles of all my failures
Wondering how long is this gonna last
Then You look at this prisoner and say to me "son
Stop fighting a fight it's already been won"

I am redeemed, You set me free
So I'll shake off these heavy chains
Wipe away every stain, now I'm not who I used to be
I am redeemed, I'm redeemed

All my life I have been called unworthy
Named by the voice of my shame and regret
But when I hear You whisper, "Child lift up your head"
I remember, oh God, You're not done with me yet

I am redeemed, You set me free
So I'll shake off these heavy chains
Wipe away every stain, now I'm not who I used to be

Because I don't have to be the old man inside of me
'Cause his day is long dead and gone
Because I've got a new name, a new life, I'm not the same
And a hope that will carry me home

I am redeemed, You set me free
So I'll shake off these heavy chains
Wipe away every stain, 'cause I'm not who I used to be

I am redeemed, You set me free
So I'll shake off these heavy chains
Wipe away every stain, yeah, I'm not who I used to be
Oh, God, I'm not who I used to be
Jesus, I'm not who I used to be
'Cause I am redeemed
Thank God, redeemed

Tuesday's Track - O Holy Night by Kenny Rogers

Tuesday’s Track is Kenny Rogers singing one of my favourite carol’s “O Holy Night”

I love the melody and the words of this carol. It takes me back to the days when I was first married when my wife and I would listen to the Kenny Rogers Christmas Album.

The lines “Chains shall he break, for the slave is our brother, And in His name all oppression shall cease.” Have always been special to me.

Christ came to offer deliverance, to end the separation between God and man.

We all have chains around our hearts. Life has a way of wearing us down and the world infiltrates our mind with despair and hopelessness.

But Christ is the bread of life, the light of the world. He offers freedom for the captive, release for the prisoner and all the unmerited favour of God.

True freedom, true release is in a real interwoven union with Him and Christ living and working through us.

O holy night, the stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till He appeared and the Soul felt its worth

A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn'
Fall on your knees, oh hear the angel voices
Oh night divine, oh-oh night when Christ was born
Oh night divine, oh night, oh night divine

Truly He taught us to love one another
His law is love and His gospel is peace
Chains shall he break, for the slave is our brother
And in His name all oppression shall cease

Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we
With all of them must praise His holy name
Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we
His power and glory, ever more proclaim
His power and glory, ever more-ore-ore proclaim...

Tuesday's Track - Tender Tennessee Christmas by Amy Grant

Tender Tennessee Christmas by Amy Grant

There are some songs that just ooze Christmas.

When my wife and i were first married we spent many, many evenings listening to Amy Grant’s Christmas Album.

1984 was our first Christmas married and just the opening notes of Tender Tennessee Christmas takes me back to those days.

I have never been to Tennessee or to America, but i feel at home there because of Amy’s song.
Snow, family, gifts around the tree and being with the one you love sharing the magic of Christmas.

I love this wonderful song and all the memories i cherish.

Enjoy

Come on weather man give us a forecast snowy white
Can't you hear the prayers of every childlike heart tonight
Rockies are callin', Denver snow fallin'
Somebody said it's four feet deep, but it doesn't matter
Give me the laughter, I'm gonna choose to keep

Another tender Tennessee Christmas, the only Christmas for me
Where the love circles around us like the gifts around our tree
Well I know there's more snow up in Colorado than my roof will ever see
But a tender Tennessee Christmas is the only Christmas for me

Every now and then I get a wandering' urge to see
Maybe California, maybe Tinsel Town's for me
There's a parade there, we'd have it made there
Bring home a tan for New Year's Eve
Sure sounds exciting, awfully inviting, still I think I'm gonna keep

Another tender Tennessee Christmas, the only  Christmas for me
Where the love circles around us like the gifts around our tree
Well they say in L.A. it's a warm holiday, it's the only place to be
A tender Tennessee Christmas, is the only Christmas for me

Well I know there's more snow up in Colorado than my roof will ever see
But a tender Tennessee Christmas is the only Christmas for me
A tender Tennessee Christmas is the only Christmas for me

Tuesday's Track - Step into Christmas by Elton John

Well Christmas is only a few weeks away.

So I thought I would start the festivities by going back to my favorite Christmas song when I was growing up.

Back to 1973.

It could have been Slade, or Wizard.

Every one in the 1970’s seemed to have a go at writing a song to top the charts.

I can still remember the shock when I discovered that Greg Lake had sold out to the commercial Christmas.

It was unbelievable that the Kings of Progressive rock, Emerson, Lake and Palmer should even contemplate making a Christmas record.

But there was one man who stood head and shoulders above everyone else in the 1970’s.

Elton John.

With the magnificent album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.

His Christmas effort ‘Step into Christmas’ was for me the best Christmas song of childhood. There seemed something ‘right’ about Elton singing about Christmas.

So here it is, Step into Christmas, from 1973, enjoy

Tuesday's Track - Cornerstone by Hillsong

We sang this song at church last Sunday

What an amazing, truth filled song

“My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Blood and Righteousness”

Everything, everything is in Christ and is by His blood and His righteousness.

Amazing grace

Amazing God

In Christ Alone

“The weak made strong, in the Savior’s love.”

My hope is built on nothing less
than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
but wholly trust in Jesus' name

-Chorus-
Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong, in the Savior's love
Through the storm
He is Lord, Lord of All

When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil

My anchor holds within the veil

He is Lord, Lord of all

Then He shall come with trumpets sound
Oh, may I then in Him be found
Dressed in His righteousness alone
faultless, stand before the throne

Tuesday's Track - All I Wanted by Paramore

I was introduced to Paramore by my teenage son, now at least we can play a CD in the car that we both like.

I love this song.

It overwhelms with desire and longing. A real heart cry.

I often think of it as God’s heart cry to us, calling to us from his heart, a cry to get us to live in His grace, His righteousness, to trust His provision and enter His rest.

There is nothing God wants more for us than to lavish his grace and goodness upon us.

He wants us so much that he sent to son to die in our place and take all the guilt and condemnation we deserved.

Think of me when you're out
When you're out there
I'll beg you nice from my knees
And when the world treats you way too fairly
Well it's a shame I'm a dream

All I wanted was you
All I wanted was you

I think I'll pace my apartment a few times
And fall asleep on the couch
Wake up early, the black and white re-runs
That escape from my mouth, oh

All I wanted was you
All I wanted was you
All I wanted was you
All I wanted was you

I could follow you to the beginning
Just to relive the start
Maybe then we'd remember to slow down
At all of our favorite parts

All I wanted was you

All I wanted was you
All I wanted was you
All I wanted was you
All I wanted was you

Tuesday's Track - Run by Snow Patrol

I love this song

It is one of those songs that can have multiple meanings, different perspectives for different situations in life.

To me there is something of the hope of life, the essence of loving-kindness in a world full of dark ambition.

Although almost forlorn and solemn, the feeling that parting and leaving is not the end, just a transition towards a better day.

Every door is an opportunity to learn and trust no matter how painful and terrible the present circumstances faced.

God is always there, he is forever reaching out with loving arms.

Accepting us, embracing us.

I am sure Gary Lightbody never intended that meaning, “I've never told anyone before and I don't want to spoil it for people because it has its own meaning for them. But in 2000 I was on a massive bender and one night I was drinking in the bar of the Glasgow School Of Art. I fell down a full flight of stairs. Jonny Quinn (Snow Patrol's drummer) found me in the stairwell with blood coming out of my head. He said I looked like a police chalk line and he thought I was dead.

I was very lucky. A fall like that could easily finish you off. I split my head open and my eye was closed and I lost a few teeth. I was put on a plane to see my mum and dad and they were terrified when they saw me. I wrote Run soon after in this little guitar I'd tried to smash up in my little room near Hillhead. The words 'Light up, light up' gave this sense of a beacon. There had to be a light at the end of a tunnel."

I'll sing it one last time for you
Then we really have to go
You've been the only thing that's right
In all I've done

And I can barely look at you
But every single time I do
I know we'll make it anywhere
Away from here

Light up, light up
As if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear my voice
I'll be right beside you dear

Louder louder
And we'll run for our lives
I can hardly speak I understand
Why you can't raise your voice to say

To think I might not see those eyes
Makes it so hard not to cry
And as we say our long goodbye
I nearly do

Light up, light up
As if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear my voice
I'll be right beside you dear

Louder louder
And we'll run for our lives
I can hardly speak I understand
Why you can't raise your voice to say

Slower slower
We don't have time for that
All I want's to find an easy way
To get out of our little heads

Have heart, my dear
We're bound to be afraid
Even if it's just for a few days
Making up for all this mess

Light up, light up
As if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear my voice
I'll be right beside you dear

Tuesday's Track - Mighty To Save by Hillsong

This is a great song from Hillsong

Every time I sing it I am reminded of the never failing love of God towards me.

God through Christ has achieved all I will ever need or require at the Cross. His perfect provision gives me everything

Jesus + nothing = Everything

He can move the mountains in my life, NOT by my obedience and my performance but by HIS obedience and His performance in my place.

I can now enter into the perfect Rest God has freely given me.

Relax, enjoy the song and let your spirit unite with the life of God flowing inside of you.

Well, everyone needs compassion
A love that's never failing let mercy fall on me
Well, everyone needs forgiveness
The kindness of a Saviour, the hope of nations

Saviour,
He can move the mountains
For my God is mighty to save, He is mighty to save
Forever, author of Salvation
Where He rose and conquered the grave,
Jesus conquered the grave

So take me as
You find me
All my fears and failures, fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in, and now I surrender, I surrender

Saviour,
He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save,
He is mighty to save
Forever, author of Salvation
He rose and conquered the grave,
Jesus conquered the grave

Shine Your light and let the whole world see, we're singing
For the glory of the risen King, Jesus
Shine Your light and let the whole world see, we're singing
For the glory of the risen King

Tuesday’s Track – Cannons by Phil Wickham

We sang this song on Sunday morning

I love it

A great melody with excellent words that is great to mediate on.

This afternoon there was an amazing rainbow, so bright it illuminated our garden.

The heavens do declare the glory of God.

It's falling from the clouds
A strange and lovely sound
I hear it in the thunder and rain
It's ringing in the skies
Like cannons in the night
The music of the universe plays

You are holy great and mighty
The moon and the stars declare who You are
I'm so unworthy, but still You love me
Forever my heart will sing of how great You are

Beautiful and free
Song of Galaxies
It's reaching far beyond the milky way
Lets join in with the sound
C'mon let's sing it loud
As the music of the universe plays

All glory, honor, power is Yours amen
All glory, honor, power is Yours amen
All glory, honor, power is Yours forever amen

Tuesday's Track - How Deep the Father's Love

This song is filled with the grace of God

The last line, “His wounds have paid my ransom,” says it all

Not by anything I have done, not by my efforts, works or performance but all by his blood and death I have freedom and eternal life.

Words cannot express the amazing love and grace that overwhelms me through the cross

How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that left Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Tuesday's Track - On Christ The Solid Rock i Stand

Sometimes things that are very familiar can become amazingly wonderful

We are often have a diluted view of the ordinary that is all around us.

This Sunday at my church we sang an ‘old’ hymn, one I recall singing many, many time before, but as I feasted on the words and let the song infiltrate my soul, this old familiar hymn had new depth and meaning.

The words of the verse, flooded over me in a torrent of overwhelming joy as I savored all that Christ accomplished for me at the cross and through the free grace of the New Covenant.

“His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay”

Christ in me, Christ working through me is the solid rock I stand on.

Christ + nothing = everything.

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus’ Name.

When darkness seems to hide His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay.

On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh may I then in Him be found.
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.
On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand

Tuesday's Track - The Endless Enigma by Emerson, Lake & Palmer

This Tuesday let me take you back to the hot summer days of the 1970’s

For those of us around and growing up in those days

It was a time of:

Strikes

Power Cuts and candles

Platform Shoes

Chopper bikes

Curly Whirly’s

Banana Splits

Glam Rock

And

Progressive Rock

And the kings of Progressive Rock was Emerson, Lake and Palmer

The first cassette tape I bought was from a school friend, he sold me ‘Trilogy’ by E.L.P.

And I was hooked forever as I heard the first track, ‘Endless Enigma’

I was just amazing and still gives me goose bumps today.

Enjoy

In an extract by François Couture over at All Music, he gives this appraisal of the song:

Lake's lyrics are once again metaphysical, something the title of the song already suggested. They imply trust ("You never spoke a word of truth") and the discovery of one's own nature ("I still don't know who I am") through life's stages ("Each part was played but the play was not shown/Everyone came but they all sat alone/Now that it's done, I begun to see the reason why I'm here").

The main part of the piece is the first one. After Lake's verses the theme comes to a halt to make way for a piano cadenza. The "Fugue" has all three musicians playing a slightly jazzy theme led by the piano (the jazzy interlude is a recurring technique in Emerson's compositions; see "The Barbarian," "Take a Pebble," "Infinite Space," and, of course, "Karn Evil 9: 2nd Impression"). Palmer switches from the drum set to the tubular bells and the piece gradually returns to the solemnity of the first section, resuming for one last verse and the finale, superbly dissonant. What makes "The Endless Enigma" a prized number of ELP's catalog is its relative lack of pomposity (something more frequent in the group's latter years) but also of arrogance (which plagued earlier pieces).”

Tuesday's Track - I'm a Believer by The Monkees

Every now and then I get asked the same questions

By my teenage son, Connor

What is your favourite song?

Or

What is the best song of all time?

I have quite a few favourites

But there is one that is definitely right up there,

Top of the pile

I’m a believer by the Monkees

Enough said

Enjoy

Tuesday's Track - Homeward Bound by Paul Simon

I love this song

Ever since I purchased Simon & Garfunkel’s Greatest Hits

It was reported that Paul Simon wrote this on Widnes Railway Station

I worked in Widnes many years ago, so the song has always had great memories for me.

Whenever I am away from my family and friends

I think of this song and sing it to myself.

Enjoy.

Simon talked about this song in a 1990 interview with SongTalk magazine:

"That was written in Liverpool when I was traveling. What I like about that is that it has a very clear memory of Liverpool station and the streets of Liverpool and the club I played at and me at age 22. It's like a snapshot, a photograph of a long time ago. I like that about it but I don't like the song that much. First of all, it's not an original title. That's one of the main problems with it. It's been around forever. No, the early songs I can't say I really like them. But there's something naive and sweet-natured and I must say I like that about it. They're not angry. And that means that I wasn't angry or unhappy. And that's my memory of that time: it was just about idyllic. It was just the best time of my life, I think, up until recently, these last five years or so, six years... This has been the best time of my life. But before that, I would say that that was.
