Beautiful jewel in the dark velvet night,
Shining up there with a bright golden light;
Known to us all as the Bethlehem Star
Guiding three kings from lands afar,
To see with their own eyes the mother and child
She had laid in a manger, so peaceful and mild.
Sleep tight tiny babe, in your mother’s fond care,
Knowing naught of the troubles and pain you must bare,
Before you can show that death never wins,
But just marks the stage where new life begins.
