So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come
down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. – Matthew 14 v 29
How many words from God does it take to see
the miraculous?
In the history of man, there have only been two instances of walking on water. These instances are recorded in Mathew 14, the first was Jesus and the second was Peter.
Eleven other disciples were in the same boat, on the lake as this event unfolded. But it was only Peter who would venture out of the security of the boat and walked towards Jesus on the water.
He asked Jesus to bid him come and Jesus replied with one word, “Come.” All it took for Peter was his acceptance and faith in the word spoken by Jesus.
Faith is our positive response to all God has provided by grace. Faith does not move God, faith is us moving to receive all God has provided.
Peter’s positive response was to get out of the boat and to walk on the water.
The Bible contains all the promises of God provided for us by grace, everything we need. All the blessings of God have been given to us by His unmerited favor.
Feasting, digesting, savoring, enjoying, meditating on these promises opens our mind to what is all ready ours in our spirit.
With one word of Jesus, received and believed we can overflow with all the treasures and benefits of our union with Christ.
Jesus bids us come, come into the fullness of His finished work, Come into the inherited riches of God, come into the abundant storehouse of heaven.
Our response to his word should be positive, it should be yes.

It has to be yes!
