From A Park Bench - Luke 2:49

Luke 2 v 49
"But why did you need to search?” he asked. “ Didn't you know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Passover feast and there as a twelve year old boy Jesus sat amongst the religious leaders discussing deep questions with them.

This was the first mention of Jesus’ awareness that he was God’s son.

Here the religious leaders sat and talked with the promise they had been hoping and waiting for. The answer to their prayers was sitting right under their noses. God in flesh, the Messiah chatting and discussing questions. I wonder if any of those leaders had an inkling who the boy was?

The same can be true of us today, God has provided all we need to live a victorious and fulfilled life through the finished work of Christ and his resurrection. All the answers of life, all forgiveness, all healing, everything has been provided by God through his grace.

Your Spirit is united with Christ, the same power that raised Christ from the dead lives inside you.

The grace of God is an ever flowing, overwhelming stream of goodness and mercy cascading within the spirit of every believer.  Jump into the river, drown in his grace, and submerge yourself in his goodness. All we do is receive and be satisfied, be filled up to overflowing on the fatted calf he has given us.

Don’t be like those religious leaders and miss what is right there in front of you. Open your eyes and gaze into the vast oceans of unmerited favour he has lavished on you.
