Friday's Five - 5 Promises from Psalm 91

Psalm 91:
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him.

The New Covenant believer is seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.  He is living out of his re-born Spirit from the eternal, spiritual realm into the physical, temporal realm.

When we are born again we are seated in Christ Jesus and our life is hid with Christ in God. It is being in Christ Jesus through the grace of God that we can live in the shelter of the Most High.

There is no more secure place to be than to have your spirit united in Christ, with Christ living in us and Christ working through us.

It is a place of intimate shelter and perfect rest.

As Rob Rufus put it .
“you dwell in the shelter of the Most High not because you have earnt or deserved it but because you are in Christ and your life is hid with Christ in God and when Christ who is your life appears, you too will appear with Him in glory.

Therefore as inheritors of all the promises of God through Christ’s finished work, we can believe and revel with total confidence that by God’s unmerited favor towards us, Psalm 91 five promises are strongholds for our faith and food for our meditation.

1. For he will rescue you from every trap

2.  Protect you from deadly disease.

3.  He will cover you with his feathers.

4.  He will shelter you with his wings.

 5. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

 Therefore I shall NOT

be afraid of the terrors of the night,
nor the arrow that flies in the day.
I shall not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at
midday.
